Released in 1970, Earl Heywood, "Canada’s Number One Cowboy" released the album 'Tales of the Donnelly Feud', a collection of 14 songs that chronicled the days of the Donnelley feud in south-western Ontario. The album sold 35,000 copies in Canada alone. Heywood later said, “the album did more for me than anything I’ve ever done.” He was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame in 1989 and received the Canada 125 medal and the 1999 Barn Dance Historical Society pioneer award. He died on Sept. 17, 2006, at the age of 89 he died in Brussels, Ontario.
