Maritime Girl

"Rex Hemeon started the Country Orbits in 1969 and ever since that date he and the band have been pleasing folk in almost every night club in Central Newfoundland. Rex first started playing guitar and singing at the age of fifteen and over the years he has won amateur contests and travelled about this country listening and learning, until he ended up back in his birth-place, Botwood, Newfoundland, where he frequently plays local radio and T.V. appearances.

Reg Rice, like Rex, was born in Botwood, Newfoundland and has played with the band for the last two years. He started as the drummer but then switched to bass guitar about a year ago.

Howard Bailey is the lead guitarist for the group and he has also has had the experience to qualify himself for the position.

Howard has played beside many of Newfoundland's popular artists, including Dick Nolan. Howard was born in Windsor, Newfoundland, and was an original member of the group. He left the group and moved to Ontario for a short spell and then returned about a year ago to the pleasure of the many Country Orbits fans."

The album was recorded at MUN Studio, St. John's. Newfoundland and was Engineered by Ron Duclos. The album was released on the great Audat Records, like so many other great Newfoundland records and contained two originals.
