In early 1968, The Haunted recorded French versions of Purple Haze and Cream's White Room. Luckily for us, Johnny messed-up the lyrics on "Chambre Blanc" so the label owner decided to substitute it with tape by another act. Only a few hundred copies made, this was the band's last single and their only real indie release on a tiny Sherbrooke-based label.

‘Vapeur Mauve’ is a French-language adaptation of Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Purple Haze’.
The recording belongs to The Haunted’s final-period lineup. Johnny Monk remained on vocals, with Gary Marcus on guitar, Bill Smith on bass and Joey Toplay on drums. Keyboardist George Legrady later specifically recalled playing keyboards on ‘Vapeur Mauve’.
‘Pourquoi’ is a French-language version of The Music Machine’s ‘Talk Talk’, written by Sean Bonniwell. The recording was actually performed by Le Spectre, although the original Marque XII label credits it to Les Haunted.
