Patsy Gallant was born in 1950 in New Brunswick, Canada, and first performed with her sisters at local fairs. The Gallant Sisters also appeared on radio and TV, but Patsy left in 1967 for a solo career. She sang in English and French, releasing singles throughout the late '60s and '70s, but focused on commercial jingles. 1972's Upon My Own was her debut album. She finally hit in 1977 with "Are You Ready for Love," around the time of her French-language album debut, Besoin D'Amour. Will You Give Me Your Love? followed in 1978; Greatest Hits appeared the next year. In 1981, she released Amoreuse.
