Liner notes
There is an old saying “imitation is a form of flattery”. If this is true then Elvis Presley must be one of the most flattered entertainers ever. Down through the years many recording artists have tried to emulate the Presley sound. Contemporaries of Elvis back in the fifties copied his vocal technique and appearance. The sixties saw Ral Donner and Terry Stafford each having hits utilizing Presley’s material and style. In the seventies Elvis imitators have moved far beyond their predecessors as they sing his songs while clad in Presley attire and perform using his stage mannerisms.

The most talented Elvis imitator on the scene today is Bobby Fisher. CANADA’S OWN ELVIS, Fisher possesses the rare ability of being able to sound like Elvis Presley down through the years. Unlike most performers who can only mimic the Elvis of the fifties, Fisher handles the Elvis of the fifties, sixties, and seventies with equal ease. It’s Fisher’s ability to reproduce the Elvis sound of each era which makes him unique.

Bobby Fisher was born March 8, 1952 in Toronto, Ontario. His interest in Elvis Presley began at age ten when he would sing along with his idol’s records. By the time he was sixteen Bobby had expanded this hobby into a professional night club act. His audiences paid tribute to his talent by requesting autographs. Although he was beginning to build a following he retired from the night club circuit for several years. Recently he has returned with a polished show and large repertoire of songs.

On this album CANADA’S OWN ELVIS presents his interpretation of songs that have been identified with Elvis Presley from the beginning of his career to present day, including a song Fisher wrote for his latest single called Follow. Sounding like Elvis comes naturally to Bobby Fisher. Even his speaking voice resembles Presley’s. This album offers a generous sampling of Elvis Presley material sung in Elvis Presley style as only CANADA’S OWN ELVIS, Bobby Fisher can sing them.
