About This Title

Frank Slide tells of a disaster which befell the town of Frank, in Alberta, and was written by Robert Gard. In truth, eighty people were killed by the landslide, not the entire population as the song would have you believe. Gard based his song on the stories that grew out of the tragedy rather than on actual history. The ballad is well known in Canada, and I would be hard put to claim any one source for it's inclusion in my repertory.
