Liner Notes
Over the past few years, the Canadian music industry has been making great advances on the international scene, and with albums such as this one by the Chaparrals, we can count on even further advances.
The Chaparrals are one of the most sought-after groups in the night club circuit, and with the success of their first single, ‘Oh Boy’ and ‘She’s Lookin’ Good’, they are now in demand for one-nighters as well, and have plans for overseas appearances.
The group consists of three personable young men who are versatile, and as equally at home in a recording studio as on stage.
Earl Fries, the lead singer and bass player of the group, sings a wide range of songs from country to pop, which is very well accepted by all types of audiences.
Carl Keys, lead guitarist, is one of the most versatile musicians in the business. He also plays banjo and fiddle, as well as doing a great job on vocals, doing the harmony on duets with Earl.
Fred Emberson, on drums, is one of the funniest men in the business, as well as being an excellent drummer. His comedy is guaranteed to keep everybody entertained and laughing.
The Chaparrals are a tightly-knit group who, in a highly competitive field, have achieved a position of success by hard work and hours of practice. Their act is a well-rehearsed but spontaneous one — and with their attitude and talent, they can’t miss.
It was a great pleasure for me to produce their first album, and I know that in the years to come you will be hearing more and more about this fine group. After you have heard the album I’m sure you too will become a fan of The Chaparrals!
Sincerely,
Gary Buck
