Howard Cable graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Music at the age of 18, receiving his degree in Conducting and Bandmastership. One of Canada’s busiest conductors, Mr. Cable is equally at home in a film studio, a concert stage, before TV cameras or a radio or recording microphone. As a composer, he has had many tunes published, ranging from marching band numbers to choral works.
For this CTL transcription, Mr. Cable led some of Canada’s top musicians in 11 of his own arrangements of standard favourites. The orchestra comprised 12 strings, 4 woodwinds, piano, bass, drums, guitar, French horn and harp.
