Insight

Tommy Buick, a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, was a familiar figure to old-time and western music fans throughout Manitoba, Saskatchewan and parts of Ontario. He made personal appearance tours in these province for twenty years. He was featured on many radio and television shows. To his many fans, who heard him on the CBC National Network, he is known as "The Polka King". His pleasant, easy-going personality had endeared him to both his public and fellow musicians. He had many close personal friends in show business including some from the Grande Ole Opry (Nashville), and, as his fans were the first to admit, he was as easy to listen to, as he was to work with.

Tommy Buick was born in Winnipeg on July 18, 1923, and passed away there on November 29, 2001.
