Lyrics (Selected Tracks):
No Other Way
I offer you some room for breath, and now I’m watching as your eyes look away and to the left.
I feel so challenged.
Keep this between you and me
There is no other way.
I offer you a place to rest, and ponder watching as my chest quickly rises and quickly falls.
You stepped around the shame when I came calling.
Come back again—but I was done next to wait.
I like what you’re speaking now; does it feel to know you’re the next one?
Everyone’s a Critic
I hope there’s something about you better than what I see right now.
I won’t insult your intelligence despite the recent developments.
You must be joking my mind is open in the one-way exit;
I can’t get over you.
You wait to talk while I am speaking.
It’s insane; this is leaking.
I’ve got some lingering problems
So I’ll send them around.
It’s Not Unlike You
It’s not unlike you to be somebody else when I stop.
It’s not unlike you to destroy your health in this punk rock band, keeping your pace like a race car driver—no one understands.
So, keep your pace with a broken record, and I’ll collect my thoughts.
All You Need to Know
All you need to know is I think you should go.
The liars agree to make things up just as long as they go.
You enquire after the end of a pay week only to report it to the world.
How can you hear the playback and think that was the truth you told?
The truth exists in the tongue of the story and not in words that weigh in the mind.
Don’t Call Me Judas
You changed the scenery but not the situation,
You admired, but I still need your admiration.
I don’t want you to sell out, I just want someone who can bend the rules.
Waiting to Talk
Every time I ask you why you’re waiting to talk words pass you by.
You shook my hand, took note of my name, but all of the faces looked exactly the same.
Nothing
You do nothing, you sit around doing nothing.
It’s life passes you by, but you’re waiting to talk.
I’m not heading only wondering why you stop.
Your Influence
You should walk so tall like it’s so easy
and like you’ve never been there
You should be so bold like it’s burning
your virgin eyes since you’re acting
like you’ve never walked...
the back alleys of under-achievement
You act humble but live so deceiving
and you’re acting
So we’re left guessing,
were they like this ever?
before your influence
You are one of the few from so many
who give me the faith in people
I wish I was like you because
consideration is such a heavy burden
you should walk so tall
State Your Case
I’m driving on the sidewalk
so everybody thinks I’m crazy
Anything you’ve got to prove
is proof that you can’t phase me
and... you’re in no rush
but time’s in a slump
don’t wonder why it’s such a jump
Accident on the causeway
the trafficking delays me
I’m a brand new beggar
cellular and lazy
I can’t lead, but I won’t leave
I know what you can do
Skipping steps to make that turn a U
I’m driving on the sidewalk
man everybody knows I’m crazy
I stay away from freaks and punks
afraid that they might make me one of them, I don’t wanna be
one of them, because I’ve been posing
since I don’t know when
I’m running all of the time
like I’ve got no time to lose
You don’t matter
I can’t get past that
You’ve second chanced
every single time
Take It on the Chin
I would like a flaming impale
Oh my eyes what they inhale
No anger for what you’re doing
and pity because you’re so
disillusioned involve not-such a time
waster, keep what you know
watch where you go
This ain’t your show so keep it low
Held back because
this ain’t about you
Wait your turn gets old
while you’re waiting
and shameful bliss is escalating
Exclude yourself from my own
included are you in my being alone
Hunger pains will follow
it makes your shit so hard to swallow
Blasphemy I heard from
God you’re a sin
Pucker up fuck - take it on the chin
You wanna go so let’s begin
