About This Title

Forged in Fire is the third studio album by Canadian heavy metal band Anvil, released on April 13 1983. The album was produced by Grammy-nominated producer Chris Tsangarides (Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy). The band's influence on notable heavy metal groups Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, and Metallica is evident in the heavy riffs of the title track and the blistering blast beats on "Butter-Bust Jerky" and "Motormount." Anvil! The Story of Anvil (2008), an Emmy-winning documentary about the band by director and former Anvil roadie Sacha Gervasi, has been lauded as one of the greatest "rockumentaries" ever made.
