Biography
High school buddies who originally got together to jam and partake of a few beers eventually became the Legend Killers in the summer of 1986. Hailing from London, Ontario Canada, and named after their wrestling hero Rowdy Roddy Piper, the Legend Killers are now considered to be the ultimate London garage band. They did it first and they did it best. A little heavier than most garage bands, with a nice dollop of 70's raw power, the Legend Killers were and to this day still are one hot live act. Sweaty, loud and wild, the Killers have always played a variety of garage standards, covering everyone from the Flamin' Groovies to the Ramones with a lot of Dictators thrown in for good measure. Coupled with their own tunes that rock with the best of them the Killers gained a large following over the years. They managed to tour Canada and their 7"ep "Better Than Hammerin" put out by London's What Wave Records drew rave reviews in alternative publications in North America and Europe. They also have the distinction of being the only band to appear on every What Wave tape that came out. After a lengthy hiatus, beginning in 1995, the band reformed in 2003, releasing a 5 song CD, 'Rattlesnake Beer' on What Wave Records.
