Born March 11, 1933 in Ethelbert, Manitoba, Canada, to Ukrainian immigrant parents, Rudy Hayden grew up to be a country and rockabilly recording artist and stage magician.

Hayden had radio and television gigs before moving to Vancouver and recording for the Aragon label with his new band Rudy Hayden & The Country Boys, and later The Golden Nuggets .

Hayden is credited by some with Canada's first true rockabilly release, "Want Me A Woman," on Aragon 279.

His wife was Beverley Hayden, who co-wrote music with him and was his on-stage assistant when performing magic.
