Biography
Skip Evans was a tone deaf musician who was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was raised on a farm by his grandparents. He moved to Toronto when he was 14 and got his first guitar at age 16. Before releasing this album, he recorded two singles on Quality (Freckles b/w Dusty Road; Lemon Marangue b/w Waiting for My Baby). Both of these singles received lots of airplay. Guitar Pickin' Man was recorded in 1972 on Quality SV 1877. Skip's specialty was playing two guitars simultaneously and he was quite popular across Canada and the USA where he played many clubs, especially T.V Dance Parties. This album is good quality music and can be pretty tough to track down a copy. All of the tracks on this album were written by Skip.
