Greg Plett

Greg Plett is a Canadian singer-songwriter who was based in Lloydminster, Alberta, in the late 1990s. In 1998 he released The Truth About Love, a ten-song independent album on Twisted Cord Music. Plett wrote every song and arranged the material with producer Harold Wiens and Eldon Winter, who also joined Plett as assistant producers. Wiens recorded, engineered and mixed the album at Sapphire Sound in Abbotsford, British Columbia, with additional engineering by Winter and Lyndon Tofager. John Matousek mastered it at Masterworks in Hollywood, California.

The band on the title track featured Dave Olsen on bass, Martin Zinger on drums, Winter and Eric Rowlett on guitars, Tofager on keyboards and Christian Stonehouse on drum loop, with Rowlett joining Plett on background vocals.

Plett played Alberta's Christian music circuit. During Blue Sky Promotions' 1998-99 season he appeared with Ryan Scott and Debbie Seburn in a Local Artist Showcase at Edmonton's Sidetrack Café, billed as a rock artist. Blue Sky presented gospel and Christian concerts in Edmonton and Calgary and used its showcases to put Canadian performers on stage alongside touring acts such as Avalon, Take 6, Michelle Tumes and Carolyn Arends.

Faith runs through the record. The title song turns on love, sacrifice and resurrection, and it sits beside 'Heaven Is My Home', 'You've Always Been There' and 'Cover Me'. The liner notes close with a statement of faith and thanks to his wife Char, Maxton, his parents and 'Gramps'.
