Haggath were an early Toronto-area thrash metal band from the first half of the 1980s and the group that preceded Visible Minority. Raw, fast, and rooted in the same mid-1980s Ontario underground that produced bands such as Slaughter, Razor, Sacrifice, and Death Militia, Haggath recorded the four-song Evil Transitions demo in 1985 along with live and rehearsal material that circulated only privately among friends. Their recordings remained largely unheard until 2023, when Italy’s F.O.A.D. Records included the Evil Transitions demo and bonus sessions on the archival LP/CD set Visible Minority, Haggath – Evil Transitions 1985-1987, documenting another seldom-seen corner of Toronto’s early thrash metal scene.
