The Chaparells were from the Strathroy area of Ontario. A 1980 Age Dispatch article profiled the group and identified members Jan Kettlewell, Delmar Dodge, Ron Dymond, John Dymond, and Rod Brooks. John Dymond was noted as the bandleader and bass guitarist, and also played banjo outside the band.

Lineup:

Jan Kettlewell: vocals, backing vocals, and piano
Delmar Dodge: electric and acoustic guitar
Rod Brooks: organ
John Dymond: bass, backing vocals, and banjo
Ron Dymond: drums, percussion, mandolin, and vocal on ‘Lucky Lady’
