Marilou Bourdon

Born in Longueuil, Québec, in September 1990, Marilou Bourdon stands today—at 33 years old—as a fully realized artist, songwriter, and entrepreneur. With over two decades in the public eye, her path has been marked by soaring highs and more difficult lows, each shaping her into the grounded, instinctive, and accomplished woman she has become.

Marilou’s musical journey began early. By age 11, she was already appearing on television, her pure tone and natural poise setting her apart from her peers. Soon after, she signed simultaneously with Sony Music Canada and Sony Music France—an unprecedented move for such a young Canadian performer—and quickly became one of the most recognizable voices of her generation. Her early years were filled with remarkable milestones: opening for major tours, performing in Notre Dame de Paris, and releasing platinum-selling albums that bridged the worlds of pop and chanson with effortless grace.

After years in the spotlight, Marilou stepped back to rediscover herself beyond the stage. This period of reflection led her to new creative outlets, including her successful culinary and lifestyle venture Trois fois par jour, through which she built a thriving community centered on wellness, authenticity, and balance. Yet the call of music never left her—it remained a quiet constant, waiting for the right moment to resurface.

That moment arrived in 2023 with Traits d’union, an intimate and deeply personal album that marked her return to songwriting on her own terms—free from pressure, driven purely by love of the craft. On August 20, 2024, nearly a year after the album’s release, she offered fans a gentle surprise: a stripped-down acoustic rendition of Francis Cabrel’s timeless ballad Je t’aimais, je t’aime, je t’aimerai. Performed simply with guitar and voice, the recording revealed Marilou at her most vulnerable and sincere—her tone clear, soulful, and unguarded.

Today, Marilou creates without compromise or expectation, guided by intuition and gratitude. Her story is one of evolution and renewal—a young prodigy who grew into an artist in full control of her art, reconnecting with the joy that first inspired her. Through her songs, she invites listeners to share in that rediscovery: quiet, radiant, and profoundly human.
