Errol Fletcher lives in Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada, where he has been teaching at Arctic College since 1987. It’s a long way from his native Jamaica, but following in the story-telling tradition of the Calypso singers of his youth, Errol decided to put his everyday observations of life in the Arctic into songs. Whether singing about a night at the local Legion, a taxi ride, the difficulty of learning Inuktitut, or Christmas in the Arctic, he found his audiences readily identified with the song-stories.

Errol didn’t see himself as a serious musician – he was just having a lark – but when people repeatedly asked him about a CD he decided to make one. This CD is the product of those requests from strangers and cajoling by friends.
