Biography
In 2007, June was the proud recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Alberta Women of Country Music (AWOCM). From the front steps of her childhood home in Annapolis Valley, NS, where Hank Snow and her brother George taught her three chords on the guitar and through her many travels as a member of the "Kountry Kuzzins" band, June shared the stage with several of the greatest country artists including Wilf Carter, Merle Haggard, Don Williams among others. Singing, writing songs and playing her guitar was what June was all about as well as being with family and friends or enjoying a quiet evening at home with her soulmate and, in her words, "darlin" husband of 46 years, Lou.
Lou was born and raised in Calgary where he was a long time employee of the City of Calgary Waterworks Department. Lou also had a lengthy and successful music career; writing and playing with music icons Wilf Carter, Merle Haggard, the Everly Brothers, Don Messer's Jubilee and Don Williams among many others.
