Biography
Banda Cruise was a Canadian rock act known from the rare 1972 single ‘I Don’t Wanna Love You’ backed with ‘Take That’. The recording was released independently through Scorpio Records, identified on the labels as a division of Scorpio Music Corp. Ltd.
‘I Don’t Wanna Love You’ was written by D. Lodge, while ‘Take That’ was composed by W. Barker. Both sides were produced by David H. Lodge and published by the Kitchener-based Right Song Publishing.
Contemporary music-industry sources place Scorpio Music and David H. Lodge within Kitchener’s early-1970s music community. Scorpio Music managed the Kitchener group Rain, while Lodge worked as a songwriter and artist manager. Right Song Publishing was subsequently listed at the same Kitchener address as Major Hoople Music. These connections establish the business environment surrounding the release but do not identify the musicians or vocalist heard on the Banda Cruise recording.
No additional releases or verified personnel for Banda Cruise have yet been documented.
