Dead Obies

Disciples of post-rap, Dead Obies formed in Montreal during the spring of 2011 after a few chance encounters at the WordUP! Battles. Months later, rappers Snail Kid, 20some, Yes Mccan, O.G. BEAR, RCA and producer VNCE put forth their bilingual mixtape Collation Vol. 1 and introduced fans to the mythological $ud $ale (Dirty $outh). In spring 2013, they won 15 prizes as Francouvertes finalists, including a $1,000 grant from the Cirque du Soleil for their excellent live performance, and the Prix Socan de la chanson primée. The winning song, Machine, can be found on their first album Montréal $ud: $ud $ale's exalted message was released via Bonsound on November 12th, 2013.
