Biography
Liz Solo is an atheist vegan artist punk with no allegiance to any place in particular. She is a cross-disciplinary artist working simultaneously as performance artist, writer, machinimator, activist and musician.
Liz Solo is a musician and performance artist who is based in St. John’s, NL. Her first solo CD Alien comes after years of releases from her bands Lizband and Black Bags. Liz toured the CD with Colleen Power on their Alien Rejects Tour and was well-received wherever they played. She performs regularly, both solo and with her bands, and is a founding member and the General Manager of Rock Can Roll Media Collective. Liz was nominated for three Music NL Awards including Female Artist of the Year, Alternative Artist of the Year and SOCAN Songwriter of the Year for her song Walking Wounded.
Liz Solo is also a member of the Black Bag Media Collective and the online performance collectives The Second Front Performance Art Collective and the The Avatar Orchestra Metaverse.
She continues to work independently across multiple online platforms investigating trans-humanism, virtual embodiment, the evolution of human relationships in virtual communities, and the notion of anthropological memory.
Liz Solo is a cross-disciplinary, cross-platform interventionist and activist specializing in performance and machinima. Founding member of The Black Bag Media Collective, The Second Front Performance Art Collective. Also member of Avatar Orchestra Metaverse.
