Biography:
Faded Films were a short-lived Canadian five-piece active in the mid-1980s. The band documented their sound on a self-released 7" EP, Faded Years (1986), recorded at Overland Studios in Toronto with engineer Clyde Munt.
The four-song record blended guitar-driven arrangements with bright synthesizers, creating a moody, melodic style that stood apart from mainstream Canadian rock of the time. With its limited pressing and lack of wider distribution, the EP quickly slipped into obscurity, but surviving copies have since become prized by collectors.
The lineup featured Andrew Barlow, Dale Wotte, George Manury, Mike Willson, and Joel Phelps. Beyond Faded Years, no other recordings are known, making this release the band’s lasting contribution to Canada’s independent music history.
