Websites:  No
Origin: Montréal, Québec, 🇨🇦
Biography:

Canadian crooner George Walker is certainly a bit of a mystery. He started singing in the early sixties building up a local following in clubs in Montreal (Quebec, Canada). Polydor president Fred Exon saw a show, was suitably impressed and arranged for Walker to work with James Last in recording studios in Germany. The resulting LP is nothing short of outstanding......and for 3 reasons: 1) Walker's stunning and outstanding vocals (a solid and warm blend of Tony Bennett, Matt Monro and Sinatra), 2) James Last's lush arrangements, and, 3) The excellent choice of songs.

Released in Canada with a strange cover design (with a long-haired Walker in a kilt), the original German issue/pressing features a completely different front & rare cover design with a short-haired Walker in a close-up shot at the front and with James Last at the back. Although sequenced differently, the tracks are the same except for "Et Maintenant" (a hit in Quebec by Les Classels) on the Canadian version that's replaced by Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Sound Of Music" on the German & UK editions.

He appeared ten years later with another recording entitled 'Now Appearing' before disappearing from the music scene.
