In 1964 two Detroit songs were climbing Canadian radio charts at the same time. The Dave Clark Five had revived the Contours' 1962 Motown hit 'Do You Love Me', taking it to No. 8 on the RPM chart, while the Reflections' '(Just Like) Romeo And Juliet', a Golden World release that February, reached No. 20. Star Records put both songs on one disc, ST 10, credited to Tim Reynolds.

The record is a raw, hard-driving take on both songs, with shouted lead and backing voices, pounding piano and drums, organ, and a fuzzed, echoing guitar. 'Do You Love Me' is Berry Gordy Jr.'s song, published by Al Gallico. The flip, shortened on the label to 'Romeo And Juliet', is the Bob Hamilton and Freddie Gorman song, published by Myto Music.

The label carries no date. Around its edge runs the line Produced in Canada by ARC Sound Limited, the Toronto company Phil G. Anderson and Bill Gilliland founded in 1958 to distribute records, and which had been pressing its own since 1959.
