This 1967 pic was taken in Minneapolis by photographer, Hans Sipma, who was The Mongrels roadie. Sipma went on to have a successful photographic career in Vancouver.

Joey and The Kernel (Sean Rickner) toured Manitoba with the S'Kiddle Bits Family Concerts. The Kernel was a popular character on S'Kiddle Bits and later, CKY’s High Noon.

In 1968, Joey hosted the CJAY TV show, Young As You Are showcasing Canadian bands every Saturday night. This particular week it was local band Haymarket Riot.

In 1967, The Mongrels opened for both Neil Diamond and The Kingsmen (Louie Louie) at the University of Manitoba (UMSU).
